Job summary

Luminous Power Technologies (P) Ltd seeks an Assistant Manager – Process (TOPCon) to lead and stabilize the TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line at the Gopalpur plant. You will drive process control, yield improvements, and daily production support in collaboration with Production, Equipment, Quality and R&D teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with diffusion, PECVD/LPCVD, metallization, and laser processes, plus strong data analysis and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience in solar cell manufacturing (PERC/TOPCon preferred).
• Hands-on exposure to diffusion, PECVD, LPCVD, metallization, or laser processes.

Responsibilities

• Process Ownership & Control: support end-to-end TOPCon steps and monitor yield.
• Provide shop-floor process support across all shifts and troubleshoot defects.
• Monitor inline/offline quality metrics and ensure SOPs and PFMEA are maintained.
• Drive yield and efficiency improvements via DOE, RCA, and 8D activities.

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager – Process is responsible for supporting stable, high‑yield operation of the TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line. The role focuses on process control, yield improvement, efficiency enhancement, and daily production support, working closely with Production, Equipment, Quality, and R&D teams to meet plant performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Ownership & Control

• Support end‑to‑end TOPCon process steps including:
  • Texturing & Saw Damage Removal
  • Boron Diffusion / PSG Removal
  • Tunnel Oxide & Poly‑Si Deposition (LPCVD / PECVD)
  • Rear/Front Passivation (PECVD)
  • Metallization (screen printing / firing)
  • Laser patterning & edge isolation
• Monitor and control cell efficiency, yield, scrap, OEE, and throughput.
• Ensure adherence to defined process windows using SPC and control charts.

2. Production & Yield Support

• Provide shop‑floor process support during all shifts.
• Troubleshoot:
  • Efficiency loss (Voc, Jsc, FF degradation)
  • TOPCon‑specific defects (poly‑Si non‑uniformity, tunneling failures, contact resistance)
  • Wafer breakage, printing defects, firing issues
• Work closely with Production and Equipment teams to minimize downtime and stabilize processes.

3. Quality & Documentation

• Monitor inline and offline quality metrics:
  • EL imaging, IV curves, Rs/Rsh trends
  • Yield maps and defect pareto analysis
• Support maintenance of:
  • SOPs, WIs, Control Plans, PFMEA
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and EHS standards.

4. Continuous Improvement

• Drive and support yield & efficiency improvement projects (ppm reduction, bin upgrade).
• Participate in DOE, RCA, 8D, and FMEA activities.
• Identify opportunities for:
  • Consumable cost reduction
  • Energy optimization
  • Automation and digital process monitoring

5. New Line / Technology Support

• Support process qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new tools, materials, and recipes.
• Assist in pilot runs and production ramp‑up of TOPCon technology.
• Coordinate with R&D / Central Technology teams during technology transfer.
