Job summary

Luminous Power Technologies in Angul invites applications for Assistant Manager - Production (Plate Generation) to lead plate generation operations, ensuring production, quality, cost and delivery targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong leadership, expertise in plate production processes, and experience in manpower planning, shift management, and continuous improvement through Lean, TPM, and Kaizen methodologies.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
• 6–10 years of experience in battery manufacturing with plate generation exposure.
• Strong knowledge of plate production processes, process optimization, and quality management.
• Experience in manpower planning, shift management, and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead plate generation operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes and product quality standards.
• Manage manpower deployment, machine utilization, and resource planning across shifts.
• Monitor key process parameters and implement corrective and preventive actions for deviations.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, planning, SCM, and EHS teams for smooth operations.
• Drive productivity improvement, cost reduction, and waste elimination initiatives.
• Lead the implementation of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence projects.
• Ensure full compliance with ISO, EHS, and statutory requirements.
• Review production performance, prepare reports, and present improvement plans to management.
• Develop team capability through training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of operators and supervisors.
• Support new projects, capacity expansion activities, and process improvement initiatives.
