Job summary

Texmo Industries seeks an Assistant Design Engineer skilled in mechanical equipment design for water treatment plants. You will drive system design, equipment selection, and process optimization while coordinating with operations for site installations.

Requirements include BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of industry experience, with hands-on SolidWorks and AutoCAD expertise. Knowledge of STP/ETP and regulatory standards is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• System Design: execute complete product design and development for water treatment projects.

• Documentation: create detailed drawings, specifications, and BOQs; prepare layouts and tests.

Job description

• Assistant Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical equipment design & development, will play a pivotal role in design & development of water treatment plants – STP process & equipment design and collaborating with operations team for site installations. The role is expected to create innovative and efficient solutions that meet project requirements and environmental standards by analyzing and optimizing mechanical systems.
• System Design:

Executing the complete product design and development (Concept development & finalization, design calculation for tank sizes, defining process parameters - Aeration time, settling time, HRT, SRT, volume of air required, Tank Overflow calculation; Pipe sizing and discharge estimation using hand calculation or software, Sizing the filtration system & dosing requirements).

Equipment Selection

Select appropriate mechanical equipment and components based on project requirements and performance requirements. Evaluate and choose pumps, blowers, mixers, agitators, compressors and other mechanical devices suitable for water & waste water treatment applications.

Process Optimization

Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance process efficiency of the plant.

Documentation

Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications and documentation of the mechanical systems. 3D modelling of concept design, equipment design calculation, layout plan, testing, validation and drafting for Water Treatment Plant. Preparation of BOQ for costing.

Operations Collaboration

Shall provide support for procurement, installation and commissioning, collaborating with electrical, civil and environmental engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other plant components.

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of experiences in water treatment industry for Product & Process design.
• Should possess strong understanding of the principles of waste water treatment processes and their application.
• Previous experience in design of water treatment plant, skid piping, structures including layout, knowledge of specifications for various pumping/lifting, filtration and disinfection systems will be an advantage
• Exposure to design, development and operations of STP/ETP/RO/UF is preferred.
• Familiarity to treatment plant’s automation such as SCADA, IIOT, Sensor technology and knowledge of prevailing discharge standards as per Local, State, and National guidelines. Exposure to design of air ventilations systems.
• Hands on experience in SolidWorks & AutoCAD. Exposure to SolidWorks pipe routing will be an added advantage.
