Job summary

GrowthSchool is seeking an Assistant/ Deputy Manager – Finance & Accounts in Bengaluru to own the financial backbone of the business. The role blends accounting and finance, ensuring books are accurate, compliant, audit-ready, and scalable for global expansion.

You will partner with leadership to strengthen financial governance, optimize controls, and support new initiatives from an accounting and compliance perspective. This is a high-ownership, detail-oriented role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• CA or CMA qualification required.
• 2–6 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing end-to-end books for growing organizations.
• Experience coordinating with auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts daily and report to management.
• Own end-to-end monthly book closure across group entities.
• Ensure proper accounting of GLs, accruals, provisions, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and inter-company transactions.
• Prepare schedules for consolidation and group reporting.
• Drive timely month-end and year-end closing with zero surprises.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership on reporting, governance and strategic finance initiatives.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Assistant/DeputyManager – Finance & Accounts to own the financial backbone of GrowthSchool.

This is a blended Accounting and Finance role.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our books are always accurate, compliant, audit-ready, and capable of supporting a fast-scaling global business. You’ll work closely with leadership to establish strong financial governance while continuously improving systems, controls, and processes.

What You’ll Own

• Maintain accurate books of accounts on a daily basis and report to management.
• Own end-to-end monthly book closure across all GrowthSchool group entities.
• Ensure accurate accounting of GLs, accruals, provisions, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and inter-company transactions.
• Prepare schedules required for consolidation and group reporting.
• Drive timely month-end and year-end closing with zero surprises.

Business Partnership

• Work closely with Finance leadership on reporting, governance and strategic finance initiatives.
• Provide accurate financial information to enable faster business decisions.
• Support new business initiatives from an accounting and compliance perspective.
• Help build a finance function capable of supporting global expansion.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

• Daily accounting and reporting without errors
• Monthly books are closed accurately and on time without escalations.
• Zero missed statutory or regulatory compliance deadlines.
• Clean statutory and tax audits with no material observations.
• Leadership has complete confidence in financial reporting.
• Strong internal controls and accounting processes are implemented across group entities.
• Finance operations scale seamlessly alongside business growth.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

• Are a CA / CMA.
• Have 2–6 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, and statutory compliance.
• Have managed end-to-end books for growing organizations.
• Have worked closely with auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Enjoy solving operational complexity through structured processes.
• Are hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.

Experience in startups or high-growth companies will be an added advantage.
