Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
- Master of Commerce (M.Com)
- Additional qualification such as CA Inter, CMA Inter, MBA Finance will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Accounts and Finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in handling plant accounting, costing, inventory accounting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager Accounts will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, plant accounting, cost control, financial reporting, inventory accounting, statutory compliance, and supporting audits. The role requires close coordination with production, stores, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial records and effective cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
- Monitor ledger accounts, journal entries, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
Plant Accounting & Cost Control
- Monitor manufacturing costs, overhead allocation, and cost variance analysis.
- Prepare product costing and profitability analysis.
- Analyze production costs and recommend cost optimization measures.
- Track budget utilization and monitor cost performance against targets.
Inventory & Stores Accounting
- Manage inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with stores and production teams for stock verification.
- Ensure accurate recording of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and scrap.
- Monitor inventory movements and identify discrepancies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee vendor invoice processing and payment cycles.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Monitor customer receivables and coordinate for collections.
- Review aging reports and ensure effective working capital management.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare and review statutory returns and tax reconciliations.
- Coordinate with consultants and authorities for assessments and audits.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Support internal, statutory, tax, and cost audits.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Address audit observations and implement corrective actions.
Budgeting & MIS
- Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports highlighting key financial indicators.
- Analyze budget versus actual performance and recommend corrective measures.
- Provide financial insights to plant management for decision-making.
ERP & System Management
- Ensure accurate accounting transactions in ERP systems (Harmony)
- Generate financial reports and dashboards from ERP.
- Should be well versed with Power BI
