Department: ELT Global Assessment, Publishing/Operations
Location: Sector - 62, Noida, India

About the Role
Introduction

Are you an experienced operations leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence? This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and scaling Oxford University Press's Assessment Operations hub in Noida. Working as part of our global Assessment team, you will help deliver the operational processes that underpin the Oxford Test of English portfolio while leading the development of a growing team and capability in India.

This role represents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a globally recognised educational organisation whose mission is to advance learning, education, and research worldwide. As the Noida operations hub continues to expand, you will be at the forefront of transforming how assessment operations are delivered, creating efficiencies, enabling innovation, and supporting strategic growth.

What makes this role particularly interesting is the opportunity to combine people leadership, operational delivery, process optimisation, and technology-driven innovation. You will work closely with colleagues in the UK and India, helping to introduce automation, AI-enabled efficiencies, and scalable workflows that enhance service delivery and support future growth.

As Assessment Operations Team Manager, you will lead the Noida-based Assessment Operations function and be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of operational processes that support the Oxford Test of English product portfolio. You will work closely with UK stakeholders to transition operational activities into the Noida hub and establish a highly efficient, scalable operating model.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the operational delivery hub in Noida and ensuring high-quality execution of workflows, systems processes, scheduling activities, metadata management, and documentation updates.
  • Managing and developing a team responsible for day-to-day operational support activities across Assessment Operations.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring, pastoral support, and career development opportunities to team members.
  • Driving process improvements through automation, standardisation, and AI-enabled solutions that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Coordinating operational interactions with external suppliers, ensuring accurate briefs, schedules, assets, and metadata are provided.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and proactively addressing risks, issues, and delivery challenges.
  • Supporting project planning, milestone tracking, status reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across Assessment, Operations, Technology, and external supplier networks.
  • Establishing a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The impact of this role will be significant. You will help create a scalable operational capability that enables UK teams to focus on higher-value strategic and quality activities while ensuring operational processes are delivered efficiently, accurately, and consistently. Your leadership will contribute to faster delivery timelines, improved supplier experiences, enhanced team capability, and increased operational effectiveness across the assessment business.

About You
  • Proven experience leading and developing operational or cross-functional teams.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience improving operational processes and driving efficiency through standardisation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build effective relationships with global stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for learning new systems, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Ability to identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
  • Results-oriented approach with a focus on operational excellence and performance improvement.
  • Experience using workflow, content production, or asset management systems such as Salesforce, ClickUp, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working within assessment, publishing, education, or content delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of automation, process optimisation, and AI-enabled operational improvements.
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams and external suppliers.
