Job summary

Honeybee Tech Solutions in Hyderabad is seeking an AS/400 (iSeries) Software Engineer – RPG Developer to design, develop, debug, and support IBM i applications across the full SDLC. You will implement RPGLE, RPG/400, CLLE, CL/400 and integrate Synon/CA2E, with strong DB2/SQL proficiency and debugging skills.

The role emphasizes collaboration with QA and business teams, production support, and adherence to client SLAs. Excellent communication is required for on-site client engagement in Hyderabad.

Qualifications

• AS/400 RPGLE, RPG/400, CLLE/CL/400 proficiency required.
• Synon or CA2E experience mandatory if chosen.
• Strong DB2/SQL knowledge essential.
• ILE concepts understanding necessary.
• AS/400 development tools SEU/SDA/RLU/PDM familiarity.
• Good debugging, test design, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance applications on the AS/400 (IBM i) platform using RPGLE, RPG/400, CLLE, and CL/400.
• Design and modify programs, display files, and report files per business/db requirements.
• Maintain applications using Synon or CA2E.
• Query and analyze DB2 data with SQL for issue resolution.
• Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Participate in unit/integration testing and defect resolution.
• Provide application support and ensure adherence to client SLAs.
• Collaborate with QA, business, and technical teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Prepare technical docs and support deployments.

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 (IBM iSeries) Software Engineer to design, develop, debug, and support applications on the IBM i platform. The candidate will work across the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Mandatory Skills
