Job summary

OpenText InfoArchive & Platform 3 Services (Archon) seeks an experienced Architect/Technical Lead to guide design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise archival solutions. You will drive end-to-end OpenText InfoArchive deployments, manage data retirement initiatives, and mentor a team of engineers to deliver scalable archiving systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading decommissioning / data retirement programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a technical team and own delivery outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement end-to-end OpenText InfoArchive solutions, including data ingestion pipelines, holdings, SIP generation, retention policies, and content query/retrieval.
• Lead Platform 3 Services (Archon) configuration, integration, and administration across archiving and decommissioning initiatives.
• Define and drive Enterprise Data Retirement (EDR) and legacy application decommissioning strategies and roadmaps.
• Design and optimize database ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data from legacy sources into the archive.
• Develop, review, and maintain Java-based components, transformations, and API integrations supporting the archiving platform.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers—assigning work, conducting design/code reviews, mentoring, and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate retention and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues spanning authentication, storage, database schema, and application layers.
• Produce architecture documentation and runbooks for technical and executive audiences.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer specializing in OpenText InfoArchive and Platform 3 Services (Archon) to lead the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise information archiving and data retirement solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep archiving platform expertise with strong database/ETL engineering, robust Java development skills, and the leadership ability to guide a technical team toward successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement end-to-end OpenText InfoArchive solutions, including data ingestion pipelines, holdings, SIP generation, retention policies, and content query/retrieval.
• Lead Platform 3 Services (Archon) configuration, integration, and administration across archiving and decommissioning initiatives.
• Define and drive Enterprise Data Retirement (EDR) and legacy application decommissioning strategies and roadmaps.
• Design and optimize database ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load structured/unstructured data from legacy source systems into the archive.
• Develop, review, and maintain Java-based components, custom transformations, and API integrations supporting the archiving platform.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers — assigning work, conducting design/code reviews, mentoring, and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
• Partner with business stakeholders, data owners, and compliance teams to translate retention and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning authentication (OTDS), storage/file store provisioning, database schema, and application layers.
• Produce clear architecture documentation, runbooks, and status communications for both technical and executive audiences.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with OpenText InfoArchive (ideally 21.x/22.x) and Platform 3 Services (Archon).
• Strong experience designing and building database ETL pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, SSIS, or equivalent.
• Advanced SQL and relational database skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server); ability to profile source schemas and validate archived data.
• Solid Java development experience, including REST APIs, Spring/Spring Boot, and integration components.
• Proven experience leading application decommissioning / data retirement programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a technical team and own delivery outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OTDS authentication, SIP/SIData configuration, and InfoArchive storage (Store/Space/Holding) architecture.
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with scripting (Python, Shell) for automation and data validation.
• Background in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, insurance).
• Relevant certifications (OpenText, AWS Solutions Architect, PMP/SAFe).
