Job summary

SOBHA Bangalore invites an experienced Architect to lead planning and development for Commercial, Retail and Mall projects from concept to launch. You will conduct market surveys, analyze catchment, develop master plans, and coordinate with Leasing, Marketing, Projects, and Design teams to ensure profitable, timely project delivery.

The ideal candidate has architecture qualifications, COA registration preferred, and a strong track record in large-scale retail and mixed-use developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch. / M.Arch.) from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA) is preferred.
• Certifications in Urban Planning, Commercial Development, Retail Planning, BIM, Project Management, GIS, or Real Estate Development will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and development activities for Commercial, Retail, and Mall projects from concept to launch.
• Conduct market surveys, location assessments, competitor benchmarking, and feasibility studies to support future development opportunities.
• Analyse market trends, customer demographics, catchment analysis, retail mix, and commercial viability for new developments.
• Develop architectural concepts, master plans, space planning strategies, and development proposals aligned with business objectives.
• Work closely with Business Development, Leasing, Marketing, Projects, Finance, and Design teams to support new project launches.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, MEP engineers, structural engineers, and statutory authorities during planning and development stages.
• Prepare presentations, concept reports, development strategies, and management approvals for proposed projects.
• Evaluate land potential, development regulations, FSI utilization, zoning norms, and statutory compliance for new developments.
• Review architectural drawings, design proposals, and consultant deliverables to ensure quality, functionality, and commercial efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews and value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
• Monitor project development milestones and provide timely inputs to ensure successful project launches.
• Recommend innovative planning concepts and global best practices to enhance the organization's Commercial and Retail development portfolio.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in architectural planning, development processes, market intelligence, and design standards.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Hands-on experience in preparing development concepts, master planning, space planning, and coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants.
• Strong exposure to statutory approvals, design management, project planning, and development activities from concept to launch.
• Experience in coordinating with leasing, marketing, business development, project execution, and external consultants will be an added advantage.
• Exposure to market research, competitor benchmarking, customer behaviour analysis, and future development trends in the commercial real estate sector is highly desirable.
