Job summary

Khatib & Alami is seeking an Architect to support design teams in developing schematic and detailed designs, and tender documents for non-complex architectural projects. You will assist multidisciplinary coordination, prepare design deliverables, and contribute to client and authority reviews, with proficiency in Revit, BIM 360, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities include refining options, coordinating with Structural, Mechanical, and Water & Environment teams, and supporting quality control and value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is required.
• Master’s Degree in Architecture or related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of industry experience in an architectural design function.
• Strong experience and track record in developing architectural designs for large and complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of international design standards and codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job description

The Architect will support design teams in developing schematic designs, detailed designs, and tender documents for non-complex architectural projects. This role includes assisting with multidisciplinary coordination, preparing design deliverables, supporting value engineering and quality processes, and contributing to client and authority reviews. Proficiency in Revit, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and relevant design standards is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the refinement of selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports, as instructed
• Support the coordination with other design specializations (e.g. Structural, Mechanical, Water & Environment) to coordinate design requirements across disciplines for design projects of across all design stages (schematic, detailed), as needed
• Review prepared design deliverables with senior project teams and implement design revisions based on reviews and checking reports, as needed
• Support Senior Architects with design value engineering activities, as needed
• Support the senior project team with the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals, as needed
• Support the development of tender documents, including specifications, and Bills of Quantities, as needed
• Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports, as needed
• Assist Project Managers with implementing quality control policies and procedures on design deliverables and conduct peer review on team members’ deliverables

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required to Execute this Role

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
• A Master’s Degree in Architecture or a related field is preferred
• 2+ years of industry experience in an architectural design function
• Strong experience and track record in developing architectural designs for large and complex projects
• In-depth knowledge and proven track record in the architectural design field
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Exposure to global best practices and trends in the architectural design
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, and strong attention to details
