VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions) seeks a Network Monitoring Engineer to join our global Customer Services & Operations team. You will monitor real-time networks, diagnose faults, and report incidents across large IP networks, working within a 24x7 shift model to ensure service availability.

Ideal candidates have an engineering degree or diploma, basic networking knowledge, and familiarity with Cisco technologies. CCNA and advanced networking qualifications are plus points for progression.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or Diploma is required.
  • Basic networking knowledge expected, with exposure to Cisco tech.
  • Understanding of OSI Model and TCP/IP required.
  • Familiarity with routing and switching concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, browsers, MS Office, and email.
  • Strong English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Methodical troubleshooting and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and rotate 24x7 shifts.
  • Desirable: CCNA certification and postgraduate networking qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer networks and network elements within defined SLAs.

About this role

We are seeking a Network Monitoring Engineer to join our Customer Services & Operations team within the Network Monitoring function. This role is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of networking technologies who are looking to build their career in a global telecommunications environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for real-time network monitoring, fault validation, stakeholder communication, and incident reporting across a large-scale customer network. This position operates on a 24x7x365 shift model and provides exposure to IP networks, Cisco technologies, and managed network services delivered to customers around the world.

What you will do
  • Monitor customer networks and network elements within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform initial fault diagnosis and validate network alarms.
  • Report service-impacting incidents to customers and internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Create and manage trouble tickets for investigation and resolution by specialist teams.
  • Work closely with technical support teams, incident management teams, service desks, and first-line support functions.
  • Maintain operational excellence to support network availability and minimise service downtime.
  • Ensure accurate communication of faults and associated customer impact.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Participate in a 24x7 shift environment to support business and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer service delivery.
Who you are

Essential Qualifications
•Engineering degree or Engineering Diploma.
•Basic networking knowledge, preferably with exposure to Cisco networking technologies.
•Understanding of:
oOSI Model
oTCP/IP Protocol Suite
oBasic Routing and Switching Concepts
•Working knowledge of:
oWindows Operating Systems
oInternet Browsers
oMicrosoft Office Applications

•Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
•Approximately one year of experience within ISP, Telecom or Managed Services environments.
•Experience working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC).
•CCNA certification.
•Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Networking.
•Experience within a Managed Service Organisation.
•Exposure to large-scale IP network environments.
