Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Verisys. We are currently looking for an Application Support Engineer in India. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and application support. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing AWS environments, automating processes, and ensuring high availability of critical applications. As part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, you will troubleshoot production issues, implement monitoring solutions, and collaborate on best practices for infrastructure and operations. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across teams, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement. Your work will have direct impact on system reliability and customer satisfaction, while providing exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS resources including EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, and CloudFormation
Implement and maintain security best practices, backup policies, and failover strategies
Provide Tier 2 support for client-facing applications, particularly during P1/P2 outages
Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, SQL scripts, or other automation tools
Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and other tools
Participate in on-call rotations and assist in incident management and problem resolution
Develop and maintain documentation, contribute to team best practices, and provide guidance to stakeholders

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS core services and cloud infrastructure management
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git CLI, GitHub Actions) and Linux systems (Ubuntu, Oracle Linux)
Understanding of networking fundamentals, subnetting, VPNs, and DNS management (Route 53)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations
Preferred: Experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation, patching tools, and awareness of security standards
