Application Engineering Specialist

Job summary

Vertiv in Maharashtra, India, is seeking a results-oriented engineer to drive cooling solutions for data centers. The role collaborates with engineering and sales teams to translate customer needs into technically and financially compelling proposals and designs.

You will engage with high-density thermal systems, support tender processes, and ensure compliance with ITC policies, while contributing to product enhancements and customer training across EMEA and global teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experience.
• Experience in Datacenter industry with focus on High Density applications.
• Fluent English written and verbal required.
• Excellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientation.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs and identify customer requirements/specifications.
• Evaluate the best trade-off solution according to customer needs, budget, efficiency and project timeframes.
• Work closely with Engineering on SFAs linked to thermal products.
• Development of technically and price competitive cooling solutions working closely with colleagues and/or external partners when needed.
• Provide support on hydronics, especially on projects where there is a coexistence of high density products together with chillers and other CW units.
• Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tenders.
• Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when attending technical meeting, aiming to become a reference point in EMEA, being able to explain the whole thermal chain, from servers till heat rejection/heat recovery.
• Create and review application based documentation (drawings, specifications, electrical layout, presentations) enabling AE colleagues and Sales to secure the business
• Share ideas and detailed design proposals to Product Management and Engineering teams for product improvement/development by applying a continuous improvement mindset.
• Provide product and application based training to the EMEA AE community and Sales to strengthen the know-how across the Vertiv's group
• Support WT activities and factory visits when needed.
• Attend in person meeting with clients when necessary supporting colleagues and Sales.
• Support that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulation is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company ITC certification program itself

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

• School Background: engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experience
• Professional experience within the Datacenter industry with focus on High Density applications
• Excellent know-how of Data Center High Density trends, applications and related thermal
• management complexities
• Excellent know-how of Uptime Insititute Tier levels and related Thermal Management
• infrastructure design
• Language skills: fluent English written and verbal required
• Excellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientation
