Job summary

Vertiv India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support Global Design Engineering activities for new product development, VAVE, and improvement projects. You will develop 3D models, assemblies, drawings and BOM structures using SolidWorks and Creo, and prepare design packages for review.

You should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 1–3 years of Creo/SolidWorks experience in sheet metal, with ability to work independently and follow PM processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with design environment exposure.
  • 1–3 years of experience on Creo/SolidWorks in Sheet Metal domain.
  • Experience generating BOMs and CO processes; comfortable with design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Support design engineering for NPD, VAVE and improvement projects in a global environment.
  • Create 3D models, assemblies and drawings; develop BOM structures using SolidWorks and Creo.
  • Prepare design packages and manage change orders to maintain quality.
  • Collaborate with teams and adhere to project management processes.

Job description

  • To Work on projects/assignments (short or long term) such as on Concept design, NPD, Bills of Materials, CAD Modelling & its detailing (using Solidworks Tool) & Change Orders to maintain desired quality levels set by organization.
  • Work on design and developments of part/assembly & Provide design packages including 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOM structures.
  • Must also be able to work independently with little guidance.
  • Adherence to project management process set by organization.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each

(This will describe the overall core responsibilities of the role, decision making responsibilities etc.)

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with relevant exposure to design environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience on Creo platform in Sheet metal domain is a must.
  • Must have good working experience in 3D modelling and detailing work on Creo with experience on generating Bills of Materials. Should also possess relevant experience and understanding of CO process.
  • Working experience on any PLM tools. Agile or PD cloud will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication process will be an added advantage.
  • Experience on telecom/electrical enclosure design is added advantage.
  • Good Interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, passionate, Willingness to learn and organized.
  • Experience in handling large CAD assemblies in creo and managing modifications as required.
  • Working experience on External Simplified representation will be an added advantage.
