Job summary

Vertiv invites a Solutions Architect with deep data center design knowledge to translate customer requirements into formal proposals. You will coordinate with Pre-Sales, Bid Management and senior management to craft comprehensive solutions using Vertiv products and services.

You will engage customers directly, read RFPs, and collaborate with engineering, deployment and commissioning teams. Expect regional duties with global coordination and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in related role.
• Deep knowledge of data center design and the impact of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and BMS.
• Understanding of architectural and structural codes and standards.
• Knowledgeable of AIA project phases for design, construction and commissioning.
• Basic drafting and sketch capabilities (Revit experience preferred).
• Solution-based thinking integrating multiple MEC components into deployments.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% for customer engagements.

• Solve customer business needs leveraging Vertiv portfolio.
• Read and understanding RFP tender documents.
• Coordinate with engineering and technical disciplines (HVAC, electrical, controls, fire protection).
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Deployment, Start-up and Commissioning teams.
• Proficient in reading customer specifications like MasterSpec and apply to data center design.
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions.
• Regional responsibility but coordinate globally with counterparts in other regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in related role
• Proficient in Data Center design and the impact of each technical discipline civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and BMS
• Understanding of relevant architectural and structural codes and standards.
• Knowledgeable of AIA project phases for design, construction and commissioning.
• Basic drafting and sketch capabilities (Revit experience preferred).
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment
• Excellent Communication Skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent Organizational Skills & Time Management
• Ability to multi-task
• Self Motivated
• PC skills: Office 365 cross-functional platform Teams, SharePoint
• 10-25% Travel for customer engagements, conferences, and trainings.
