Job summary

Exicom is seeking an Application Engineer for UPS/Data Center Battery in Gurgaon. You will validate high voltage Li-ion battery systems for large UPS and BESS, and contribute to data center power solutions from concept to delivery.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in UPS/data center projects, BE/BTech Electrical or Electronics, and hands-on CAD experience for SLD/GA preparation. Travel and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in UPS or data center projects.
• Hands-on CAD experience for SLD/GA development and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Validate high voltage Li-ion battery systems for large UPS (75KVA–1MVA) and BESS projects.
• Size lithium battery racks and related subsystems per project requirements.
• Collaborate with partners to develop integrated data center solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals and respond to customer specifications.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC/IEEE/ISO standards and certifications.

Job Description: Application Engineer UPS/Data Center Battery

Role: Application Engineer UPS/Data Center Battery

Designation: Assistant Manager / Dy Manager

Department: R&D

Location: Gurgaon

Experience: 5-10 Year

Qualification: BE/ B. Tech in Electrical /Electronic Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Validation of high voltage Lithium-Ion battery system for high-capacity UPS (75KVA to 1 MVA), Data center & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications.
• Sizing calculation for Lithium Battery for UPS applications
• Selection of Sub-systems (Battery, Rack, Fire Suppression System, Cable Sizing) as per project requirement
• Working with technology partners to develop solutions.
• Preparation of technical proposals as per customer specification.
• Compliances / validations / approvals / certifications as per applicable UL / IEC / IEEE / ISO standards.
• Tender / Specification / VoC (Voice of Customer) understanding and respective solution including SLD, BOQ, necessary critical sections / sub-sections / components / sub-components
• Route cause analysis of field failures.
• Product delivery process from requirement capture to final solution; including support to site installation-commissioning team

Required Skills (Functional & Behavioral Skills):

• Hands-on experience on high-capacity UPS (75KVA to 1 MVA) projects
• Experience in execution of data center project.
• Hands on experience of any CAD tool for SLD & GA preparation
• Able to be flexible on work location / travel. Strong teamwork, oral & written communication

Preferred Skills:

1. Hands-on on high-capacity UPS (75KVA to 1 MVA)
2. Experience in Data Center power backup application
3. Familiar with Laboratory & field development & testing equipments w.r.t. FAT-SAT (field/site acceptance test) requirements
