CIEL HR is seeking a skilled optical metrology engineer in Pune, India, to plan tool trials and optimize machining on advanced optical equipment. You will perform surface and form measurements with profilometers and interferometers, while supporting customers with technical guidance and issue resolution.
Responsibilities include documenting SOPs, preparing trial reports, and collaborating with R&D, Sales, and Production to drive product improvements. Travel to customer sites may be required.
Plan and conduct tool trials to evaluate performance and optimize machining parameters on advanced optical manufacturing equipment.
Perform metrology and surface/form measurements using profilometers, non-contact optical measuring devices, and interferometers.
Support customers by resolving machine-related challenges and providing technical guidance.
Conduct optical metrology, surface roughness, and form measurements on machined parts.
Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tool testing and trials.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on trial results and customer feedback.
Maintain accurate records to support product development and decision-making.
Collaborate with R&D for product improvements and share findings with Sales and Production teams.
Skills Required
CNC Operation and advanced optical manufacturing equipment (Coburn, Schneider, OptoTech, Satisloh).
Experience in optical lens manufacturing; diamond turning preferred.
MS Office and Outlook.
Design of Experiments (DOE).
SOP Development.
Process Documentation.
Conducting trials and customer visits.
Optical metrology equipment Profilometer, Interferometer, Lensometer, Contact Angle Measurement, etc.
CAD Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Strong expertise in CNC machining and advanced optical manufacturing equipment (Coburn, Schneider, OptoTech, Satisloh) for optical lens production.
Experience in ultra-precision machining and diamond turning preferred.
Expertise in conducting tool trials and optimizing machining parameters.
Strong process analysis and improvement skills.
Ability to create SOPs and technical documentation.
Experience using optical metrology equipment and interpreting measurement data.
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, communication, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with precision tooling and industry standards.
Collaborative approach to working with R&D, Sales, and Production teams.
Willingness to travel for customer support, training, and troubleshooting.
