Job description

Role Overview:

The role requires a strong understanding of geometrical and physical optics, optical aberrations, optical materials and coatings, and practical experience with optical design software such as Zemax Optic Studio, TracePro. Optical calculation, cam profile generation in MATLAB is additional.

We are looking for a motivated Optics Engineer with around 2+ years of hands-on experience in optical system design, performance optimization, tolerance analysis in Zemax and preferably stray light analysis using Zemax/TracePro. The candidate will support the development of optical systems from concept and design through analysis, verification, and system-level performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, analyse, and optimize imaging and illumination optical systems based on system requirements.
• Perform optical sensitivity and tolerance analysis to assess the impact of manufacturing and assembly variations on system performance.
• Analyse the effect of tolerances on image quality/wavefront quality and mitigation technique for compensation.
• Develop sequential/non-sequential optical models for stray light evaluation.
• Strong background in Preparing and presenting the optical design, tolerance, and stray light analysis reports to customer.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong fundamentals in, Geometrical optics, Physical optics, Optical system design, Optical aberrations, Diffraction and interference, Optical materials and Optical coatings.
• Hands-on experience with Zemax Optic Studio or equivalent.
• Knowledge of optical optimization and merit-function development.
• Experience with optical sensitivity and tolerance analysis.
• Basic understanding of non-sequential ray tracing and stray light analysis.
• Documentation of optical design and presentation.
• Hands-on experience for alignment and testing of reflective and refractive optics.
