Job summary

Control Products in Bengaluru seeks an Application Engineer with strong knowledge of industrial automation. You will provide application and solution support, programming, installation, commissioning, debugging, demonstrations, and technical training for customers.

The candidate should have hands-on exposure to Omron Automation products and be capable of independently supporting customers from solution development through installation and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support for industrial automation solutions.
• Develop and implement automation applications based on customer requirements.
• Perform programming, configuration, testing, installation, commissioning, and debugging of automation systems.
• Work with Omron Automation products (PLC, HMI, Drives, Vision, Robotics, RFID).
• Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate automation products and solutions.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct product demonstrations and POC activities for customers.
• Conduct technical training and product sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams.

Job description

We are looking for a technically sound Application Engineer with strong knowledge of industrial automation products and applications. The role will involve providing application and solution support, programming, installation, commissioning, debugging, demonstrations, and technical training for customers.

The candidate should have hands-on exposure to Omron Automation products and be capable of independently supporting customers from solution development through installation and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities -

1. Provide technical and application support for industrial automation solutions.
2. Develop and implement automation applications based on customer requirements.
3. Perform programming, configuration, testing, installation, commissioning, and debugging of automation systems.
4. Work with Omron Automation products, including:
   • PLC
   • HMI
   • AC / Servo Drives
   • Vision Systems
   • Robotics
   • RFID Systems
5. Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate automation products and solutions.
6. Provide on-site and remote technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
7. Conduct product demonstrations and Proof of Concept (POC) activities for customers.
8. Conduct technical training and product/application sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams.
9. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, communication, and application-related issues.
10. Support the sales/business development team with technical discussions, solution selection, demonstrations, and customer presentations.
11. Prepare application documents, technical reports, configuration details, and relevant project documentation.
12. Stay updated on new Omron products, technologies, and developments in the industrial automation domain.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
• Hands-on experience in PLC and HMI programming.
• Knowledge of Drives, Motion/Servo Systems, Vision Systems, Robotics, and RFID.
• Experience with system installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols and automation networks.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and convert them into appropriate technical solutions.
• Experience with Omron Automation products will be strongly preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong technical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Hands-on and application-oriented approach.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable conducting customer demonstrations and technical training.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations for installation, commissioning, demonstrations, and technical support.
