Job summary

Vrinda International seeks an experienced Application Developer - zOS to drive mainframe validation efforts on a large migration program. The role requires Unix/Linux scripting basics and hands-on z/OS and Unikix expertise, with a focus on end-to-end testing and batch processing reliability.

The position is based at IBM location with work-from-office mode and day one reporting. The candidate will validate equivalence, run SIT and performance tests, and contribute to automation and documentation

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mainframe Practitioner with Unix/Linux basics.
• Familiarity with z/OS, Unikix, and batch processing.
• Knowledge of CA7 Scheduler.
• Ability to validate end-to-end mainframe batch jobs.
• Strong analytical and defect-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end validation of mainframe batch jobs and online transactions
• Validate functional equivalence between z/OS and Unikix environments
• Conduct SIT, regression, baseline, comparison, and performance testing
• Execute and monitor batch cycles, reruns, restarts, and abend analysis
• Create test plans, validation strategies, and documentation
• Support parallel run execution and migration validation
• Write basic Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and validation support

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Practitioner with foundational Unix/Linux expertise for a large-scale Mainframe Rehosting Program involving migration from IBM z/OS to Unikix.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end validation of mainframe batch jobs and online transactions
• Validate functional equivalence between z/OS and Unikix environments
• Conduct SIT, regression, baseline, comparison, and performance testing
• Execute and monitor batch cycles, reruns, restarts, and abend analysisCompare flat files, VSAM datasets, reports, and database outputs
• Create test plans, validation strategies, and documentation
• Support parallel run execution and migration validation
• Write basic Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and validation support
