Qualifications

• 6–8 years of hands-on mainframe development experience.
• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and code reviews.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them to technical solutions.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM, with experience in application development, production support, and maintenance.

The candidate should be comfortable working in Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, and supporting critical production systems with high availability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications.
• Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Develop new programs using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Modify and enhance existing applications.
• Perform impact analysis for change requests.
• Develop batch and online transaction processing programs.
• Write efficient SQL queries and optimize DB2 database access.
• Create and maintain JCLs for batch processing.
• Perform unit testing and support system integration testing.
• Prepare technical design documents and program specifications.
• Investigate production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards are followed.
• Coordinate with business analysts, QA teams, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders.
• Support production deployments and post-deployment verification.
• Participate in on-call production support and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Mentor junior developers whenever required.
