Job summary

Seargin is seeking an API engineering leader to design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale API solutions using Apigee and Azure API Management. You will drive migrations from Apigee to Azure APIM, including policy migration, automation, testing, and validation.

The role emphasizes self-service onboarding, Terraform for IaC, automation frameworks, GitHub Actions pipelines, and strong focus on API security, observability, and governance across enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level technical degree required.
• 6–10 years in API engineering or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale API solutions.
• Lead API migrations from Apigee to Azure APIM, including policy migration, automation, testing, and validation.

• Design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale API solutions using Apigee and Azure API Management.
• API Migration
  • Lead API migrations from Apigee to Azure APIM, including policy migration, automation, testing, and validation.
• Self-Service Capabilities
  • Build self-service API onboarding and management solutions that improve developer productivity and platform adoption.
• Infrastructure as Code
  • Develop Terraform solutions for API platform provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Automation Development
  • Create reusable automation frameworks for API deployment, policy management, environment provisioning, and operations.
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines supporting automated API deployments and modern delivery practices.
• API Security & Governance
  • Implement API security, traffic management, observability, monitoring, and governance standards across enterprise platforms.
• Integration Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve complex API integration and platform issues across development, testing, and production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6–10 years of experience in API engineering, integration engineering, software engineering, or comparable technical roles.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, managing, and supporting enterprise API solutions using Apigee.
• Hands-on experience with Azure API Management and its capabilities for API lifecycle and platform management.
• Terraform Expertise
  • Strong practical expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, provisioning, automation, and platform lifecycle management.
• API Modernization
  • Proven experience delivering API migration, modernization, automation, and platform transformation initiatives.
• Software & Automation Skills
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with programming experience in Node.js, Python, or C# and automation development.
• API Security & CI/CD
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API security, and modern Git-based development workflows.
