Job summary

Moder Solutions in Chennai seeks an experienced Azure API Engineer to design, develop, secure, and manage APIs on Microsoft Azure. You will work with APIM, RESTful APIs, and microservices, collaborating with architects and stakeholders to deliver scalable API solutions.

Responsibilities include implementing OAuth2/OpenID Connect, CI/CD pipelines, and API documentation. Strong Azure Integration Services experience is expected, with a focus on secure, maintainable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
• 4+ years of API development and integration experience.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
• Strong REST API design experience and backend tech proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs and microservices on Azure.
• Manage and configure APIM for publishing, security, and monitoring.
• Develop API policies, authentication, throttling, caching, and transformation rules.
• Integrate applications using Azure services such as Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security standards.
• Create API documentation with Swagger/OpenAPI and maintain it.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and security issues.
• Monitor API performance and usage via Azure Monitor and App Insights.
• Define API standards with architects and development teams.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure API Engineer to design, develop, secure, deploy, and manage APIs on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Azure API Management (APIM), RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, Azure Integration Services, and cloud-native development practices. The role will involve collaborating with application teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure API solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs and microservices on Microsoft Azure.
• Manage and configure Azure API Management (APIM) for API publishing, versioning, security, and monitoring.
• Develop API policies, authentication mechanisms, throttling, caching, and transformation rules.
• Integrate applications using Azure services such as:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in API development and integration.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
• Strong experience in designing and developing REST APIs.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET Core, Node.js, Java, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience with Azure Integration Services.
• Strong understanding of API lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and DNS.
• Experience with JSON, XML, SOAP, and REST services.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Certifications:
  • AZ-204: Azure Developer Associate
  • AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • AZ-400: DevOps Engineer Expert
• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized workloads.
• Knowledge of Azure Functions and serverless architectures.
• Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Exposure to API Gateway management in multi-cloud environments.
• Understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices patterns.
