Job summary

TheWebVale is seeking an API Engineer to design, document, and maintain secure REST and GraphQL APIs for client platforms and partner integrations. You will create well-structured API contracts, ensure fast, strictly typed endpoints, and collaborate with frontend teams to release versions every 2–3 weeks.

You will champion API consistency, rate-limiting, and clear documentation across all client deliverables, implementing authentication, OpenAPI specs, and mock servers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of dedicated experience designing and building APIs.
• Advanced knowledge of HTTP protocols, REST standards, and GraphQL schemas.
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience implementing OAuth2, JWT, and API key auth patterns.
• Understanding caching mechanisms, ETag validation, and content negotiation.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation for non-authors.

Responsibilities

• Design clean RESTful and GraphQL API contracts using OpenAPI and TypeScript.
