Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist to design and deliver scalable enterprise solutions across AWS, APIs, and Pega. You will develop APIs with Node.js/Express.js, support production with AWS Lambda, and drive DevOps practices to ensure reliable, scalable services.

You will lead code reviews, collaborate with business stakeholders, and promote engineering excellence while embracing AI-assisted development and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• Eight years of IT or software engineering experience delivering enterprise solutions.
• Strong AWS expertise: design, develop, deploy, and support cloud-based applications.
• Proficiency in API development using Node.js, Express.js, RESTful services, and AWS Lambda.
• Hands-on Pega development including workflows, APIs, integrations, and production support.
• Understand DevOps and release practices, including CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and deployment processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable enterprise solutions across AWS cloud, APIs, Pega, and DevOps environments.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise applicationsto support performance, resilience, high availability, and operational effectiveness.
• Use AI-assisted development toolsto improve productivity, debugging, code quality, and delivery speed.

To be successful in this role, you should

• Have at least eight years’ experiencein IT or software engineering, with strong hands-on experience delivering enterprise solutions.
• Demonstrate solid AWS expertise, including experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based applications.
• Be proficient in API developmentusing Node.js, Express.js, RESTful services, and AWS Lambda.
• Have practical experience with Pega, including workflows, APIs, integrations, and production support.
• Understand DevOps and release management, including CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Git, build automation, and deployment practices.
• Be confident in application support and incident resolution, with strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate across teams, working with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and operations colleagues.
• Be committed to continuous improvement, with an interest in AI-assisted development, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, Agile delivery, accessibility, and enterprise UI practices.
