Job summary

Canvendor is seeking an API Automation Test Engineer in Chennai to design and execute automated tests for REST and SOAP APIs. You will develop frameworks using JavaScript, Postman, and Rest Assured, validate requests/responses, and ensure data consistency across systems.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, hands-on with CI/CD integration, and strong backend data validation using SQL. Immediate to 15 days notice, Chennai location.

Qualifications

• Design and execute automated test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
• Develop and maintain API automation frameworks using JavaScript, Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
• Validate API requests/responses, status codes, headers, authentication, schemas, and business rules.
• Test integrations between insurance applications, core insurance systems, portals, and external systems.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and negative API testing.
• Validate insurance business scenarios across policy, claims, underwriting, billing, payments, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
• Perform backend data validation using SQL queries.
• Validate data consistency across APIs, databases, and integrated applications.
• Test authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, and SSO.
• Analyze API failures, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve defects.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
