Job summary

Ameriprise India LLP is seeking an Accounts Payable associate to handle day-to-day AP activities for non-PO and PO-backed invoices, expense reports, and vendor requests, using Ariba and Workday.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in Lean initiatives, and ensure internal controls. The role is full-time in India with in-office collaboration three days a week and two days remote.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior management.
  • Team player who can meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including processing Non-PO invoices, PO-backed invoices, and rush payment requests from stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with internal controls and SOPs by following Desk Instructions.
  • Provide high-quality support to stakeholders and vendors via calls and emails about invoice processing and payment status.
  • Participate in Lean huddles, process reviews, and training to support continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support AP efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues while maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Job Description

Be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to different AP TEV areas, such as the processing of non-PO/purchase order backed invoices and expense reports, as per the Process Desk Instructions. Create and approve new vendor/modification requests, as per the Process desk instructions. Receive and resolve inbound calls/emails.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including processing Non-PO invoices, PO-backed invoices, and rush payment requests received from business stakeholders and external business partners. Utilize AI-driven tools, Ariba, and Workday to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with internal controls, company policies, and process guidelines by adhering to Desk Instructions and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Deliver high-quality support to business stakeholders and vendors by efficiently handling calls and email inquiries related to invoice processing, payment status updates, and other transaction-related issues.
  • Actively participate in Lean huddles, process review meetings, one-on-one discussions, and training sessions to support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance professional development.
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying process improvement opportunities, contributing to efficiency-enhancement initiatives, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Accounts Payable function.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and process-related challenges while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Analytical skills to focus on continuous work improvement.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills needed to interact independently with senior management.
  • Good team player and able to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding and experience of the P2P process.
  • Experience with Ariba/Concur/PeopleSoft.
  • Accounts payable experience.
