Job summary

Ameriprise India LLP is seeking an Accounting Associate to perform day-to-day accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for intercompany activities, fixed assets, software capitalization, fee billing, and related processes. You will ensure timely delivery against SLAs.

The role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with business partners across functions. The office operates in a collaborative, client-centric environment with a hybrid work model

Qualifications

  • Accounting qualification with 1-3 years of accounting experience (R2R).
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficient with current desktop tools (MS Excel).
  • Ability to influence, build, and maintain strong working relationships with business partners.
  • Reliable and proactive approach towards business goals.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliation of General Ledger accounts and journal entries, and create reports based on accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Regularly update control trackers, prepare scorecards to ensure control and timelines, and support cross trainings.
  • Participate in standardization and continuous improvement initiatives; liaise with customer business partners and interface groups.

Job Description

Perform Accounting, Reconciliation, and Reporting functions on day to day basis for Specialized Accounting processes for Inter company, Fixed Assets, Software Capitalization, Fee Billing, Real Estate Accounting, Allocations, etc. Accurately and timely meet all internal and external service level agreements (SLAs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts, Accounting/Journal entries creations based on supports/bank statements, and create reports based on Accounting and Reconciliation processes.
  • Regularly update control trackers, prepare scorecards maintained in the process to ensure control and timelines, and complete all deliverables. Learn and support cross trainings and backup creation in the process.
  • Participate in standardization and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as other business partner initiatives. Be flexible and change ready in a dynamic work environment. Maintain close contact with customer business partners, technologies, and other interface groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Accounting qualification with 1-3 years of accounting experience (R2R)
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient with current desktop tools (specifically with MS Excel)
  • Ability to influence, build, and maintain strong working relationships with business partners
  • Reliable and Proactive approach towards business goals
  • Ability to be accurate and show good attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Workday accounting system
  • Ability to look at processes and make improvements
  • Good organizational skills – i.e. time management, ability to follow and write process documents
  • Ability to apply root cause analysis to obtain origination of critical ops and financial problems and proactively apply action steps to resolve
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills
  • Ability to understand end-to-end process flows, systems, controls and impacts across the work they support

In-Office Collaboration
