Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is seeking an Android HMI Developer for Automotive Infotainment/IVI in Bangalore. The role requires hands-on Automotive Android with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, plus experience in Infotainment or Cluster HMI development and embedded/HMI software in Kotlin, Android, Linux or RTOS.

Candidates should have strong Android Jetpack components, Room DB, Work Manager, Coroutines, Maps, Bluetooth, BLE, WIFI, and socket connectivity, with knowledge of Android HAL and

• Experience in Automotive Infotainment or Cluster HMI Development.
• Developed embedded/HMI software in Kotlin, Android, Linux or RTOS.
• Strong knowledge of Android Jetpack Components, Room DB, Work Manager, Coroutines, Maps, Bluetooth, BLE, WIFI, sockets.
• Experience with Android HAL development and Android Framework internals.
• Good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
• Automotive environment experience with real hardware.
• Experience with automated test tools for Android apps.
• Hands-on experience with SCM tools like Git, Gitlab, Gerrit.
• Maintain quality and ensure responsive apps; good UI debugging.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM terms and ASPICE processes.
• Hands-on code check-in using RTC/GIT.

Role: Android HMI Developer Cluster / IVI

Required Technical Skill Set

HMI Development using Automotive Android, Kotlin for Automotive Infotainment or Cluster (Must have Automotive Android, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)

Desired Experience Range

3 to 8 years of development experience

Location of Requirement

Bangalore

Must-Have:

1. Experienced in Automotive Android, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (MUST)
2. Experien>ce in Automotive Infotainment or Cluster HMI Development (MUST)
3. Experience in developing embedded and/or HMI software in Kotlin, Android, Linux or other RTOS
4. Excellent knowledge and experience in Android Jetpack Components, Custom Components, Room DB, Work Manager, Coroutines, Maps, Bluetooth, BLE, WIFI, Socket-Connection Strong expertise in Android HAL development and Android Framework internals.
5. Good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
6. Experience working in an automotive environment and applications in real hardware
7. Expertise in automated test tools for Android applications.
8. Hands-on experience with SCM tools and services such as Git, Gitlab, Gerrit and others
9. Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
10. Exposure to UI design principles and best practices.
11. Good debugging skills.
12. Good written & verbal communication skills.
13. Understanding of Agile/SCRUM terminologies
14. Understanding of the ASPICE process
15. Hands on experience in code check in, source control management tools - RTC / GIT

Good-to-Have

1. Android Framework development experience (Android Frameworks, System Services, HAL, AIDL in Android)
2. Expertise in Android Framework API & CAR Framework [Car Service, Cluster Service].
3. Good understanding and debugging skills of Android startup/boot and initialization sequences.
4. Good to have the flutter/Kotlin Multiplatform.
5. Good to have understanding in SRD doc for IVI system.
