Job summary

upGrad Rekrut seeks a seasoned Android / automotive security engineer with 5+ years in the Android framework, SELinux, and build systems. Strong Java and C/C++ skills are essential, with proficiency in CTS/VTS/STS triage and automotive cybersecurity considerations.

The role emphasizes end-to-end Android security, including permission models, firewall customizations, and Keystore concepts, in a mobile/IVI context. Pune-based, on-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated experience working within the Android Framework layer, system services, and deep Android internals, with strong debugging skills across the entire software stack (bootloader, kernel up to the application layer).
• Proven ability to define and architect SELinux domains based on complex, cross-domain business use cases. Expert-level capability to debug, triage, and fix intricate cross-domain SELinux policies, violations, and sepolicy configurations, alongside hands-on experience identifying and solving failures across CTS, VTS, and STS.
• Hands-on capability with system configurations, including core platform files (e.g., BoardConfig.mk), build system variables, and build parameters.
• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end automotive cybersecurity methodologies alongside deep familiarity with Android security features (including permission models, firewall customizations, and cryptography/Keystore concepts).
• A self-motivated, results-driven professional with a passionate "can-do" attitude. Experience in the Automotive Infotainment (IVI) domain is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Job description

• Core AOSP Expertise: 5+ years of dedicated experience working within the Android Framework layer, system services, and deep Android internals, with strong debugging skills across the entire software stack (bootloader, kernel up to the application layer).
• Advanced SELinux Architecture & System Level Issues Triage: Proven ability to define and architect SELinux domains based on complex, cross-domain business use cases. Expert-level capability to debug, triage, and fix intricate cross-domain SELinux policies, violations, and sepolicy configurations, alongside hands-on experience identifying and solving failures across CTS, VTS, and STS.
• Platform Manipulation & Build Systems: Hands-on capability with system configurations, including core platform files (e.g., BoardConfig.mk), build system variables, and build parameters.
• Software Design & Programming: High proficiency in Java within the Android ecosystem, backed by a strong foundation in OOP and clean architectural Design Patterns. Competency in C/C++ is a strong added advantage.
• Android & Automotive Security: Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end automotive cybersecurity methodologies alongside deep familiarity with Android security features (including permission models, firewall customizations, and cryptography/Keystore concepts).
• Industry Domain (Preference) : A self-motivated, results-driven professional with a passionate "can-do" attitude. Experience in the Automotive Infotainment (IVI) domain is highly preferred but not mandatory.
