The Gemological Institute of America in Mumbai is seeking a diligent entrant to learn to operate advanced gemological instruments, accurately collect data, and input it into our systems. You will also learn to maintain instruments to ensure reliable performance and data integrity.
Under supervision, you will participate in data collection, instrument testing, and routine quality checks while expanding knowledge in earth sciences and gem identification.

Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry, Solid State Physics, or one of the Earth Sciences and some statistical abilities
Become properly trained to operate standard and advanced gemological instrumentation used in gem identification and recognize the quality of data obtained.
Ability to get along with a diverse group of individuals.
Able to communicate professionally (communicate respectfully, listen, articulate/explain issues, use of professional tone, know when and how communicate effectively with different types of communication tools); deals with colleagues effectively and professionally under pressure
Ability to give as well as accept and learn from constructive criticism.
Accurate, detail-minded and good concentration skills.

Possess basic computer skills Language Skills-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
