Welsbach Group is seeking a proactive Analyst Intern to support deal origination, target screening, and execution across cross-border mandates in Delhi. You will work directly with a Senior Associate and gain exposure to the full deal lifecycle, including research, memo drafting, and content creation.

Qualifications

  • Penultimate or final-year student in finance, economics, business, or a quantitative field.
  • Strong ability to read financial statements with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent written English and ability to produce concise, publication-ready content.

Responsibilities

  • Build pre-meeting intelligence briefs on prospective clients, SPAC targets, and counterparties.
  • Run RTO/shell suitability reviews on listed entities flagged as potential vehicles: capital structure, free float, litigation, going-concern, listing standards.
  • Maintain a live pipeline tracker of SPACs, shells, and de-SPAC candidates (US, LSE, ASX, SGX) with deadlines, trust sizes, sponsors, and status.
  • Draft sections of investment memos, board notes, and sector commentary for review.
  • Build and refresh comparable company sets, transaction comps, and simple valuation outputs.
  • Support meeting prep: agendas, attendee bios, prior-interaction recaps, follow-up notes.
  • Keep CRM and shared deal files clean and current.

About the job:
Role Overview

Analyst Intern supporting deal origination, target screening, and execution across Welsbachs mandates

Direct report to Senior Associate; cross-exposure to the broader deal team

Duration, location (remote / Singapore / Delhi / hybrid), stipend, and conversion pathway to full-time analyst to be confirmed

Core Responsibilities
  • Build pre-meeting intelligence briefs on prospective clients, SPAC targets, and counterparties
  • Run RTO/shell suitability reviews on listed entities flagged as potential vehicles: capital structure, free float, litigation, going-concern, listing standards
  • Maintain a live pipeline tracker of SPACs, shells, and de-SPAC candidates (US, LSE, ASX, SGX) with deadlines, trust sizes, sponsors, and status
  • Draft sections of investment memos, board notes, and sector commentary for review
  • Build and refresh comparable company sets, transaction comps, and simple valuation outputs
  • Support meeting prep: agendas, attendee bios, prior-interaction recaps, follow-up notes
  • Keep CRM and shared deal files clean and current
AI Fluency
  • Power user of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or equivalent uses them as a research, drafting, and analysis partner daily, not occasionally
  • Comfortable building and refining prompts, custom GPTs/Projects, and Claude Skills/Artifacts for repeatable workflows
  • Knows when to trust model output and when to verify against primary sources, citations
  • Bonus: experience with Perplexity, NotebookLM, ElevenLabs, Descript, image/video generation tools, or lightweight automation (Zapier, Make, n8n)
Content & Social (LinkedIn-led)
  • Own Welsbachs LinkedIn content calendar in coordination with the deal team, cadence, themes, approvals
  • Draft posts, carousels, and short-form thought leadership tied to live market events, regulatory shifts, and the firms perspective
  • Repurpose internal research and memos (where shareable) into external content without leaking sensitive deal information
  • Design simple visuals, carousels, quote cards, charts, using Canva, Figma, or equivalent
  • Track engagement, iterate on what works, and bring data-backed recommendations on what to double down on
  • Identify and engage relevant voices in the firms universe, founders, sponsors, allocators to grow distribution
What Were Looking For
  • Strong proficiency with AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.) and the ability to leverage them effectively to enhance research, skill development, analysis, content creation, and day-to-day workflow efficiency.
  • Penultimate or final-year undergrad / Masters in finance, economics, business, communications, or a quantitative discipline; non-traditional backgrounds welcome if the work product is there
  • Comfort reading financial statements without hand-holding
  • Strong written English, can produce a one-pager that a busy MD will actually read, and a LinkedIn post that a stranger will actually stop scrolling for
  • Excel fluency (modelling, not just formatting); PowerPoint/Slides
  • Curiosity about how capital markets actually clear deals
  • Discretion: interns see live deal information and live client names
Nice to Have
  • An active professional presence on LinkedIn or a portfolio showcasing published articles, research, or thought-leadership content.
  • Exposure to capital markets, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory (Big 4), or boutique financial advisory environments.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python or SQL for sourcing, cleaning, and interpreting datasets.
