Job summary

Moodys Analytics in India seeks an experienced investment professional to support private equity clients in deal sourcing, due diligence, and valuation work including company/industry research and financial modeling (DCF, LBO).

You will partner with client PE teams across technology, fintech, retail, financial services and other sectors, conducting market analysis, peer benchmarking and portfolio monitoring to identify risks and value creation opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in strategy research and investment analysis.
• Strong finance fundamentals and valuation skills.
• Experience with databases Capital IQ, PitchBook and Preqin.

Responsibilities

• Financial spreading and valuation analysis using detailed models (DCF, M&A, LBO).

Job Purpose

It will offer theopportunity to work with Private Equity teams of our clients across industries(technology, fintech, retail, financial services, transportation etc.) andassist them in devising their deal sourcing, deal assessment, due diligence,portfolio monitoring and valuation activities including company/industryanalysis, financial modeling (DCF, LBO), relative valuation, company profiles,industry research, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial spreading and valuation analysis: Creation and updation ofdetailed financial models including DCF, M&A, LBO Models, trading &transaction comps, valuation analysis via different techniques, through idea ofcompany financial metrices, valuation of Real Estate projects.
• M&A and strategic analysis: Identification and analysis ofpotential targets through analysis of markets, products, services and financialsynergies
• Peer group benchmarking & competition landscaping: Identifyingplayers operating in relevant industry, mapping them by geographies, sector orother parameters, benchmarking shortlisted players on various KPIs
• Portfolio company monitoring: Periodic tracking of business andfinancial performance indicators of portfolio companies and benchmarking thosewith their peer group for timely identification of upside and / or downsidetriggers
• Commercial due diligence support: Commercial due diligence ofpotential investment through analysis of the market opportunity, targetcompanys business model, its competitive positioning, etc.
• Experienced in all types of secondary research (databases,statistics and ministry/ industry/ association websites), as well as generalresearch (company websites, SEC Filings, research reports, news articles etc.)and primary research involving discussions with industry players/ stakeholders

Key Competencies:

• Experience of 5-8 years supporting strategy research and analysis,preferably across industries CFA, MBA from a top tier business school inStrategy, Finance, Operations or Economics Strong finance fundamentals andknowledge of financial analysis skills
• Experience working across databases such as Capital IQ, Pitchbook,Preqin etc
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.Adept at synthesizing information to generate insights
• Dedicated and motivated individuals demonstrated academic excellencewith strong leadership, analytical, communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
• Superior problem-solving abilities and strong analytical thinking toseek the why, how and so-what of a problem statement and ability to thinkmultiple/alternative solutions to a given problem
• Proven project management skills
• Excellent at using MSPowerPoint; command over MS Excel to process varied data sets in spreadsheets(Pivots, charting etc.) is highly desirable.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in investment operations, creditanalysis or middle-office roles within asset management or private markets.
• Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Accountant or Master ofBusiness Administration from a top-tier business school.
• Prior exposure to private debt asset class is must.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications;familiarity with automation tools is a must
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multipledeadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with aprocess-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills
