Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a role focused on catastrophe risk modeling and underwriting support in Gurgaon, India. The position involves learning CAT modeling guidelines, processing risk models, and collaborating with underwriters and ERM to resolve queries.

You'll gather exposure data, analyze terms, and contribute to pricing decisions using the Pricing Tool, while pushing for process improvements and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Learning Catastrophe (CAT) Modeling guidelines and ensure adherence while processing accounts.
• Gain detailed know-how on AXA XL lines of business to understand tasks.
• Process pre- and post-bind risk modeling tasks using the appropriate application with accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyse bound package terms and translate into the modeling app; gather exposure data.
• Understand insurance terms (Ground Up Loss, Gross Loss, Occurrence Exceedance Probability, Loss ratio, AAL) and respond to queries.
• Support underwriting with pricing decisions and capture data in Pricing Tool.
• Communicate with Underwriters and ERM to resolve queries.
• Use workflow and time-tracking tools to organise work and reporting.
• Challenge processes and seek improvement; join ERM projects.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Learning Catastrophe (CAT) Modeling guidelines and ensuring adherence to them while processing accounts.
• Getting detailed know-how on the specific lines of business written at AXA XL in order to understand the tasks you perform.
• Undertaking the processing of various pre and post bind risk modeling tasks via usage of the appropriate application with adherence to the set accuracy, timeliness and productivity goals. The choice of application will vary depending on the product.
• Analysing the bound package terms/conditions and translating them into the modeling application. Gathering and preparing exposure data to input into the model.
• Would be required to understand/ apply the conceptual knowledge of various insurance terminologies like Ground Up Loss, Gross Loss, Client Loss, Occurrence Exceedance Probability, Loss ratio, AAL (Average Annual Loss),etc. while handling risk modeling requests and would in turn be required to respond back to the branch for queries regarding any variations on year-to-year basis. Might be required to interpret modelling results as well.
• Support underwriting with Pricing decisions, thereby learning and correctly capturing the data in Pricing Tool, as and when applicable.
• Communicating with Underwriters and ERM to help resolve queries.
• Using workflow and time-tracking tools to ensure proper work organisation and reporting.
• Constantly challenging existing processes and looking for improvement opportunities. Participating in internal projects/common initiatives together with ERM.
