Job summary

Bhartiya Recruitment Services is seeking a PHE Design Engineer to plan, design and coordinate plumbing, drainage, water supply, sewage treatment, rainwater harvesting, and firefighting systems for various developments. You will ensure compliance with codes and project standards while leading design reviews and technical discussions.

The role requires 6–15 years of PHE design experience, ability to work with architects and MEP consultants, and preparation of BOQs, reports, and tender documents.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 6–15 years of PHE design experience for building projects (Assistant/Deputy Manager levels).
• Experience with design of water supply, drainage, STP/ETP, and building services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concept, schematic, detailed design and construction drawings for PHE systems.
• Design and size water supply, drainage, storm water, rainwater harvesting systems; perform hydraulic calculations.
• Review architectural/MEP drawings for coordination and perform pipe sizing.
• Prepare pumping system calculations and equipment selection; design storage and treatment systems.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, IS Codes, CPHEEO guidelines, and local regulations.

Job Summary

The PHE (Public Health Engineering) Design Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, coordination, and execution of plumbing, drainage, water supply, sewage treatment, rainwater harvesting, and firefighting systems for residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments. The role requires ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Prepare concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction drawings for PHE systems.
• Design and size water supply, domestic water, flushing water, hot water, drainage, sewage, storm water, and rainwater harvesting systems.
• Review architectural and MEP drawings for design coordination.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
• Prepare pumping system calculations and equipment selection.
• Design STP, WTP, ETP, and water storage systems as per project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, IS Codes, CPHEEO guidelines, local authority regulations, and project standards.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and clients.
• Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.
• Resolve technical issues during design and construction stages.
• Support site teams in design clarifications and technical approvals.

Documentation

• Prepare BOQs, material specifications, technical reports, and design calculations.
• Review vendor submissions and technical data sheets.
• Prepare tender and bid documents related to PHE works.
• Maintain project documentation and design records.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises.
• Implement best engineering practices to optimize cost and performance.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering OR
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

Assistant Manager

• 6 to 10 years of experience in PHE design for building projects.

Deputy Manager

• 10 to 15 years of experience in PHE design and project coordination.
• Experience handling large commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, or mixed-use projects.

Preferred candidate profile
