Job summary

Jakson Limited in India seeks an Erection Manager (AM/DM) to lead site execution from mobilization to handover on power generation projects.

You will supervise erection and installation of electrical/mechanical equipment, coordinate with design, procurement, and PMC, ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and timely milestone achievement.

This role requires strong contractor management, documentation, and client liaison to secure approvals and smooth handover.

Responsibilities

• Site Mobilisation: study contract scope, site visit, contractor finalisation, allocate Site Engineer, establish site office/store and staff deployment.
• Site Installation Management: oversee erection and installation of electrical/mechanical equipment; ensure compliance with specs and timelines; coordinate with design, procurement; manage contractor deployment and site records.
• Safety Compliance: implement HSE policies; conduct site safety audits, toolbox talks, risk assessments; ensure PPE usage.
• Quality Assurance: prepare FQP; ensure erection meets quality standards; conduct quality checks and audits; maintain QA documentation.
• Vendor and Contractor Management: evaluate erection contractors; ensure compliance with technical/safety/quality requirements; process invoices and RS bills; develop new contractors.
• Customer and PMC Interaction: be primary contact for customer/PMC; attend meetings; provide progress updates; coordinate inspections and handovers.
• Testing and Commissioning: plan and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning; ensure testing per contract; coordinate with OEM/suppliers and internal teams; generate commissioning docs and handover.

Job description

The Erection Manager (AM/DM) at Jakson Limited—Power generation projects—plays a crucial leadership role in managing all aspects of site execution from site mobilization till handing over the Project.

1. Site Mobilisation

• Study of contract for scope, technical, safety, quality and statutory requirement.
• Site visit and kick off meeting with customer / PMC site staff.
• Contractor finalisation in coordination with Project Controller.
• Allocation of Site Engineer.
• Site Mobilisation (Establishment of Site office / Store, deployment of required staff like HSE / Quality engineer.)

1. Site Installation Management

• Oversee erection and installation of all electrical/mechanical equipment under Jakson Scope such as DG sets, transformers, BOT, Panel, switchgear, structures, etc.
• Ensure strict adherence to project specifications, technical drawings, and timelines.
• Coordinate with design, Project Controller and procurement teams for timely availability of materials and resources.
• Manage contractor deployment, allocation of tasks, and daily work progress.
• Maintenance of all statutory registers and records as per contract / statutory requirement.
• Certification from customer as per customer guidelines for all inward material at site for processing payment.
• Adherence to schedule and milestone and updating as per customer requirement.

3. Safety Compliance

• Implement and enforce HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) policies as per statutory and company norms.
• Conduct regular site safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Ensure all site personnel use appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Investigate incidents/near-misses and take corrective actions.
• Conduct safety audits.

4. Quality Assurance

• Preparation of FQP (Field Quality Plan).
• Ensure that erection work meets quality standards and customer expectations.
• Implement quality control procedures during installation—check alignment, torque, welding quality, insulation resistance, etc.
• Maintain proper documentation of QAP (Quality Assurance Plan) and test records.
• Liaise with quality teams for inspections and third-party validations.
• Conduct Quality audits.

5. Vendor and Contractor Management

• Manage and evaluate performance of erection contractors and service vendors.
• Ensure contractors comply with technical, safety, and quality requirements.
• Handle contractual issues, productivity monitoring, and scope adherence.
• Approve contractor bills based on actual work completion (JMS) and milestone achievements.
• Preparation and Certification of RA bill form customer and submission.
• Development of New Contractors.

6. Customer and PMC (Project Management Consultant) Interaction

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer site representatives and PMC.
• Attend site meetings, resolve client/PMC queries, and ensure execution aligns with expectations.
• Provide regular updates on progress, delays, and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate for client inspections, approvals, and punch list closures.

7. Testing and Commissioning

• Preparation of list of site test and checks.
• Plan and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning of systems.
• Ensure all equipment undergoes functional and performance testing as per contract requirement.
• Coordinate with respective OEM/ Supplier and internal teams for final testing, troubleshooting, and handover.
• Ensure timely generation of commissioning documents and customer sign-off and handing over of Project.
