Job summary

IndiGo is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for Line Maintenance in Delhi. The role requires 10+2 and an AME Diploma with CAT B1/B2 authorization and 3–5 years of certifying experience on A320/ATR aircraft.

You will ensure license validity, perform inspections, use approved methods, and mentor technicians while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain currency and validity of AME license/ authorisation for the aircraft type.
• Inspect and certify maintenance of airframe and powerplant systems per your authorisation.
• Ensure work complied with manufacturers' requirements and approved methods.
• Use approved procedures, tooling and materials in maintenance tasks.
• Complete and certify all work orders and inspection schedules before CRS issuance.
• Rectify snags reported during inspections or by flight crew using approved methods.
• Ensure tools and equipment are calibrated and serviceable; handle with care.
• Use approved spares with proper documentation before installation.
• Follow safety procedures while handling equipment and servicing aircraft.
• Report defects to MCC/Shift-Incharge; mentor technicians on procedures.
• Maintain discipline and presentable appearance as per guidelines.
• Contribute to IndiGo SMS Safety Policy and training programs.
• Conduct lectures and practical trainings; prepare annual training schedules with Nodal Officer.
• Keep training content up to date per Engineering Training Manual; retain records.
• Prepare and approve question banks for training.

Job Responsibilities

• The AME must ensure that his AME license/ Authorisation is current and valid on the type of aircraft/engine/systems to be certified by him.
• To carry out the inspection and certification of work pertaining to the maintenance of airframe and power plant systems and components within the scope of his Licence/ Authorisation.
• To ensure that all work performed in connection with maintenance is in accordance with the requirements/recommendations of the manufacturers.
• It should also be ensured the approved methods, tooling, procedures and materials are used in carrying out the said work.
• To ensure all work orders, inspection schedules, are properly completed & certified before issuing CRS.
• To ensure the snags observed during inspections and those reported by the flight crew during the flight are rectified in an approved method. Major defects and rectifications are promptly reported and dealt with.
• To ensure that tools and equipment used during maintenance are calibrated and in serviceable condition, and are not mishandled during use.
• To ensure that only approved materials and parts are used and the approved spares have necessary documentation and certification before installation on the aircraft.
• To ensure while handling equipment(s), tools and carrying out any servicing of aircraft or components etc. necessary caution and safety procedures are to be followed.
• Report to MCC/ Shift-Incharge whenever any defect is reported by flight crew/observed.
• Mentor technicians. Ensure that they have read the QAN, GIC & other Technical instructions issued from time to time.
• To maintain discipline and clear environment at work place.
• Should be in full uniform & Presentable as per company guidelines at all times while on duty.
• Ensure implementation of Safety Policy and safety management system within indigo engineering.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager Line Maintenance.
• Be aware of and comply with his / her safety responsibilities and accountabilities as laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objectives.
• Conduct lectures/ instruct candidates both theoretical and pract ical trainings.
• Prepare the annual schedule of the trainings in consultation with the Nodal Officer
• Keeping Training content up to date based on Training Policy as defined in Engineering Training Manual so as to cover all in-house training program.
• Ensure higher standards are always maintained pertaining to t r aining and examination
• Ensure all records of train i ng are retained and updated in computerized database regularly and preserved for the required period.
