Job summary

SYSTEM AND TELECOM SERVICES is launching a new AI initiative to transform field survey and infrastructure operations using AI, GIS and automation. We seek a hands-on engineer who can translate field data into production software, from data import to GIS to AI-enabled applications.

You will build an AI-enabled Railway Survey platform, integrate DGPS/GIS data, plot routes on maps, detect anomalies, perform QC, analyze productivity, generate reports and enable NL queries.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a highly hands-on engineer who can understand a real operational problem and take it from field data → database → GIS → AI → working application.
• You should be comfortable sitting with field engineers, understanding how their work is actually performed and rapidly turning that workflow into production software.
• Strong preference for practical builders over certificates.

Responsibilities

• Import DGPS/GIS and underground cable-location data for the railway survey platform.
• Plot surveyed routes and observations on maps.
• Automatically detect missing or abnormal field data.

DSTS works on field-intensive infrastructure projects involving Railways, Telecom, GIS, DGPS and underground utility/cable mapping.

We are starting a new AI initiative to transform field survey and infrastructure operations using AI, GIS and automation.

We are looking for a highly hands-on engineer who can understand a real operational problem and take it from field data → database → GIS → AI → working application.

This is not a conventional website-development role.

Your first challenge

Build a working AI-enabled Railway Survey platform that can:

• Import DGPS/GIS and underground cable-location data
• Plot surveyed routes and observations on maps
• Automatically detect missing or abnormal field data
• Perform survey QC
• Analyse team productivity
• Identify survey gaps and anomalies
• Generate daily/project reports
• Allow managers to query project data in natural language using AI

Example:

"Show all locations surveyed yesterday where cable depth could not be measured." or "Which survey teams completed less than 7 km yesterday and why?"

Engagement

The selected candidate will initially undertake a 30-day paid prototype assignment using real infrastructure survey workflows. A successful prototype can lead to a long-term role with the opportunity to help build and lead DSTS's AI Deployment & Automation initiative.
