Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead AI/ML Engineer or Data Scientist with deep expertise in GIS and/or Image Processing to architect and drive our AI initiatives. You will lead a team of engineers and data scientists, dene technical direction, and deliver scalable, production-grade solutions for image and geospatial intelligence applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models for image and geospatial data processing.
- Architect end-to-end pipelines, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model deployment and monitoring.
- Work hands-on with geospatial datasets (satellite imagery, drone data, maps) and apply advanced image processing and computer vision techniques.
- Guide and mentor a team of junior and mid-level engineers/data scientists. Collaborate with product managers, domain experts, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Review and improve model performance, scalability, and robustness through continuous evaluation and tuning.
- Ensure best practices in coding, model management, MLOps, and documentation. Stay up to date with the latest trends in AI, GIS, and image analytics, and bring innovative ideas into the team.
Required Qualications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics or related elds.
- PhD is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in AI/ML or Data Science roles with a strong focus on image processing or GIS.
- Procient in Python, ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and image processing libraries (OpenCV, scikit-image, PIL).
- Hands-on experience with geospatial tools and libraries (QGIS, GDAL, Geopandas, ArcGIS, rasterio).
- Proven track record in leading AI/ML projects and delivering production-grade systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of geospatial data formats, coordinate systems, and remote sensing concepts.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with deep learning models for segmentation (e.g., UNet, Mask R-CNN) or object detection (YOLO, Faster R-CNN).
- Knowledge of satellite/drone data sources and preprocessing workows.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools like MLow, Airow, or Kubeow.
- Exposure to data privacy, ethical AI, and regulatory compliance in geospatial applications.
