Job summary

Geektrust is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to own and enhance end-to-end data pipelines on a cloud-first platform. You will work with Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark and geospatial datasets to deliver scalable data solutions for a leading US-based oil & gas client.

This on-site Bengaluru role emphasizes production mindset: monitoring, data quality, troubleshooting and deployment readiness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust data architectures

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of data engineering experience with Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark and ETL pipelines.
• Geospatial data experience including coordinates, GPS, maps, satellite imagery.
• End-to-end pipeline design and scalable data architecture with orchestration.
• Hands-on with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) for large-scale data processing.
• Production mindset: monitoring, data quality, troubleshooting and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data pipelines and architecture for production use.
• Develop and maintain data processing using Spark/PySpark, Python, SQL.
• Work with geospatial datasets and location data for analytics.

Role overview:

5-10 Years of Experience

• Core Data Engineering: 5–10 years with strong hands-on Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark and production ETL/data pipelines.
• Geospatial – Mandatory: Genuine experience working with geospatial/location datasets — coordinates, latitude/longitude, GPS, maps, satellite imagery, spatial datasets, etc.
• End-to-End Pipeline Ownership: Should have experience designing/building scalable data pipelines and architecture, including orchestration, data processing, storage and production support.
• Cloud & Scale: Any cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) is acceptable, but should have hands-on experience processing large-scale data using cloud/data-platform technologies.
• Hands-on + Production Mindset: Looking for someone who remains technically hands-on and has experience with monitoring, data quality, troubleshooting, optimisation and production deployments.
