Job summary

Careerist Management Consultants seeks a senior in-house counsel to lead the organization’s litigation and dispute-resolution strategy across civil, commercial, regulatory, consumer and IPR matters. This role protects legal, financial and reputational interests while driving efficient dispute management.

Ideal candidate has ~15 years PQE with strong litigation experience and excellent drafting, stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with significant in-house corporate/MNC exposure.

Qualifications

• Significant in-house corporate/MNC legal experience preferred.
• Approximately 15 years PQE with a strong litigation background.
• Exposure to commercial litigation, consumer disputes, regulatory matters and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end litigation, arbitration, mediation and regulatory proceedings.
• Assess legal risks and develop practical, business-oriented dispute resolution strategies.
• Draft/review pleadings, writ petitions, appeals, notices, responses and other litigation documents.
• Handle matters before High Courts, civil/criminal courts, NCLT, tribunals, consumer forums and arbitral forums, coordinating with external counsel.
• Manage law firms, advocates and external legal partners.
• Handle commercial and consumer disputes involving distributors, dealers, retailers, channel partners, contractors and product liability.
• Identify emerging legal risks and provide strategic legal advice to senior management.
• Establish litigation-management processes, dashboards, case repositories and preventive legal controls.
• Lead and mentor the litigation team and drive legal technology and operational efficiency.

Role Overview

Lead the organizations litigation and dispute-resolution strategy across civil, commercial, consumer, regulatory, competition, IPR, employment and criminal matters. The role will safeguard legal, financial and reputational interests while driving effective dispute management and minimizing litigation risk.

Preference for candidates with significant in-house legal experience in corporate/MNC environments. Excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end litigation, arbitration, mediation and regulatory proceedings across courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial forums.
• Assess legal risks and develop practical, business-oriented dispute resolution and settlement strategies.
• Draft/review pleadings, writ petitions, appeals, claims/counterclaims, notices, responses, legal submissions and other litigation documents.
• Handle matters before High Courts, civil/criminal courts, NCLT, tribunals, consumer forums and arbitral forums, including briefing and coordinating with external counsel.
• Manage law firms, advocates and external legal partners, including performance, cost and matter management.
• Handle commercial and consumer disputes involving distributors, dealers, retailers, channel partners, contractors, painters, product liability, contractual claims, advertising/media and regulatory matters.
• Identify emerging legal risks and provide strategic legal advice to senior management.
• Establish litigation-management processes, dashboards, case repositories and preventive legal controls.
• Lead and mentor the litigation team and drive legal technology and operational efficiency.
