Job summary

BMW TechWorks India Private Limited seeks an experienced Agile Master to lead agile ways for the Codebeamer Platform team, spanning India and Munich. You will serve as the servant‑leader, coaching a distributed team of about 20 across development, operations, and quality, ensuring smooth delivery across time zones and stakeholders.

You will partner with Product Owner and Platform Leads to balance delivery, run, and quality.

ALM – Codebeamer Platform. Codebeamer (PTC) is BMW's enterprise-wide Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system, used by thousands of users across multiple business units. The platform is run by a distributed team across India and Munich and is in an active cloud transformation (application to Azure, Oracle database to OCI).

What awaits you/ Job Profile

We are looking for an experienced Agile Master to lead the agile ways of working for the Codebeamer Platform team at BMW. You serve a distributed team of around 20 people across development, operations, and quality, spanning India and Munich, and you make the whole delivery system work smoothly across roles, time zones, and stakeholders.

You are the servant‑leader and facilitator for the team: you run the agile cadence, remove impediments, coach the team and stakeholders, and protect focus and flow. You build trust and a healthy team culture in a multi‑site setup, and you continuously improve how the team delivers value.

You partner closely with the Proxy Product Owner and the Operational, Platform Engineering, and Quality & Release Leads so that delivery, run, and quality stay in balance – including agile coordination around releases and go‑live gateways.

What should you bring along

• Agile Facilitation – facilitate the full cadence (planning, daily, review, retrospective, refinement) for a distributed team across time zones.
• Servant Leadership & Coaching – coach the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders on agile values and practices; grow self‑organization and accountability.
• Impediment Removal – proactively surface and remove blockers; shield the team from disruption and protect focus and flow.
• Team Health & Culture – build trust, psychological safety, and a healthy collaboration culture across India and Munich.
• Flow & Delivery Metrics – make flow visible (velocity, throughput, cycle time, predictability); use metrics to drive improvement, not pressure.
• Continuous Improvement – drive retrospectives and concrete follow‑through; foster a learning, experimentation mindset.
• Cross‑Team & Stakeholder Coordination – align development, operations, and quality; coordinate dependencies and agile practices around releases and go‑live gateways.
• Distributed Collaboration – establish ways of working, tooling, and communication norms that work across sites and time zones.
• Conflict Resolution & Facilitation – facilitate decisions, resolve tensions constructively, and keep the team aligned on goals.
• Organizational Interface – represent the team's agile practice, report transparently, and help shape the broader agile setup with Munich.

Must have technical skill

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years as a Scrum Master / Agile Master / Agile Coach, ideally for technical platform or software teams.
• Proven facilitation of all agile ceremonies for a sizeable team (15+ people).
• Experience coaching distributed/multi-site teams across time zones (Germany–India is a strong plus).
• Strong servant‑leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
• Solid grounding in Scrum and Kanban; able to tailor the approach to the team's context.
• Skilled at impediment removal and stakeholder management across technical and business audiences.
• Comfortable working with flow/delivery metrics and using them constructively.
• Experience supporting teams that span development, operations, and quality.
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Experience with an ALM/agile tool (Codebeamer strongly preferred; or JIRA, Azure DevOps).
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.

Good to have technical skills

• Certifications – CSM/PSM, CSP, SAFe (SSM/SPC), ICAgile, or Kanban (KMP).
• Experience scaling agile (SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus) across multiple teams.
• Experience coaching teams through a cloud transformation or major platform change.
• Familiarity with ALM/PLM or requirements‑management domains in an automotive context.
• Knowledge of BMW IT processes and organizational structure.
• Background or strong fluency in a technical/engineering environment.
• Experience coordinating agile practices around releases, upgrades, and go‑live gateways.
• Coaching and facilitation across cultures in a Germany–India delivery setup.
• Familiarity with collaboration tooling for distributed teams (Miro, Confluence, Teams).
