Job summary

HARMAN Automotive is seeking a Transducer Engineer to drive design and validation for in‑vehicle audio solutions in Pune. You will collaborate with a global team to develop innovative transducer technology, perform virtual design and validate samples, and analyze cost efficiency while maintaining documentation for quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with at least 7 years in transducer design.
• Experience using modeling/analysis/FEA tools such as Magnet, ANSYS.
• Proven track record leading project teams.
• Understanding of best practices in transducer design, development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support NPD/R&D projects and aid transducer engineers in all transducer activities.
• Help develop common work practices, procedures, and design standards with audio systems teams.
• Provide documentation for transducer designs (sketches, BOMs, data sheets, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs).
• Keep up with world‑class practices in audio product design, modeling, and manufacturing techniques.
• Set objectives, measure performance, coach and develop engineers.
• Coordinate activities among team members across labor and supplier interfaces.

About The Role

As a Transducer Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work within the Automotive Audio Division. You will be responsible for transducer development for in-vehicle applications, including virtual design (simulation), sample validation, and cost efficiency analysis. You will work closely with a global team to develop and present design solutions.

What You Will Do

• Support NPD/R&D projects and facilitate transducer engineers for all transducer engineering activities.
• Participate in the development of common work practices, procedures, and design standards with other audio systems design groups.
• Ensure that the necessary documentation is provided that defines and verifies transducer designs. Documentation includes sketches, BOMs, analytical/modeling data, acoustic data sheets, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, etc.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in world‑class best practices in relation to audio product design, development, modeling / analysis, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
• Setting objectives, measuring performance, conducting appraisals, and developing engineers through coaching and counseling.
• Proven experience working with a team of transducer, materials manufacturing, test, quality, and supplier engineering members and coordinating activities among team members with either a direct or indirect reporting structure.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience in transducer design.
• Knowledge/use of various modeling/analysis/FEA packages (e.g., Magnet, ANSYS).
• Experience of leading project teams.
• Understanding of world‑class best practices in transducer design, development, and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in English.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Working knowledge of the OEM customers’ expectations and requirements.
• Detail-oriented: Demonstrated ability from theoretical to implementation‑based thinking.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Background of automotive speaker.

What Makes You Eligible

• Be willing to travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally.
• Be willing to work in the R&D Center in Suzhou.
