Job summary

HARMAN India is seeking an experienced Android Automotive software engineer to drive module development within the Android Automotive System. You will analyze requirements, implement components, and own end-to-end delivery from development to integration and testing.

You will collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team, mentor peers, and ensure adherence to build systems and Treble architecture, with a focus on Services, Receivers, Content Providers, and core Android components.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with software life-cycle methodologies.
• Experience collaborating in an agile cross-functional team environment.
• Strong leadership, planning and organization skills.
• Expert knowledge of the Android Framework, AOSP architecture, and build systems.
• 5+ years modifying Android framework components, system services, and the Android SDK.
• Good understanding of Android Automotive System and Car Framework.
• Strong knowledge of Android Components: Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers, Treble Architecture.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and object-oriented programming.
• Expertise in IVI SYSTEM domain is mandatory.

About The Role

• Responsible from requirement analysis till realization of the functionality in Android Automotive domain.
• Responsible to develop different modules/components in Android Automotive System
• Is responsible for multiple component ownership for Android Automotive System
• Delivery of the software for software Integration
• Ensure the implementation of defined test strategies and document the achieved results.
• Ensure pre-integration testing and verification for the functional area and its features.
• Ensure traceability, consistency of requirements and feature maturity
• Defect triaging and resolution
• Work with other domains for the resolution of dependencies on features and defects
• Mentor the less experienced team members to guide and assist them in completing their tasks on time.

What You Will Do

• Proficiency Java, or Kotlin and Object‑Oriented Programming
• Expertise and working knowledge in one or more domain are mandatory in IVI SYSTEM
