Job summary

HARMAN International is seeking a Telematics Test Engineer to plan, execute, and validate testing across in-vehicle telematics systems and back-end integrations. You will analyze CAN traces, validate ECU behavior, and ensure end-to-end testing coverage within an Agile team dedicated to automotive platforms.

The role emphasizes testing across CAN networks, UDS, and telemetry features, with collaboration across Dev, QA, and systems teams in a typical office-based environment in Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• Experience testing automotive telematics systems.
• Knowledge of CAN protocols.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment and follow SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute testing levels (smoke to regression) across telematics workflows.
• Validate end-to-end telematics workflows and diagnostic services.
• Analyze CAN traces and ECU behavior using diagnostic tools.
• Log, track and verify defects; ensure traceability to requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setup.

About the Role

• Develop, test, and validate automotive telematics systems and connected vehicle features.
• Work on vehicle communication protocols includingCAN (Controller Area Network).
• Implement and validateUDS (Unified Diagnostic Services)protocols.
• Handle diagnostic features , including:
  • DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
  • DID (Data Identifier)
  • RID (Routine Identifier)
• Analyze CAN logs and debug communication issues using tools like CANoe, CANalyzer.
• Work on telematics features such as:
  • GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)
  • eCALL
  • FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air updates)
  • Vehicle networking (LTE/5G/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth)
• Support integration ofTelematics Control Units (TCU)with backend/cloud systems.
• Participate infull Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)stages:
  • Requirement analysis
  • Design & development support
  • Test planning and execution
  • Defect tracking and closure
  • Release and maintenance
• Work in Agile/Scrum environment :
  • Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev, QA, System, Integration)
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test reports, and documentation.

• Ensure test coverage and traceability mapped to requirements.
