Job summary

CT Automotive India is seeking an Acquisition Engineer for automotive interior kinematic components in Pune. You will interpret RFQs from OEMs, develop BOMs for air vents, armrests and related trims, and perform early manufacturability checks to support commercial sourcing.

The role requires 8–12 years in interiors, strong CAD and BOM skills, and collaboration with design, tooling and purchasing teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in automotive interiors.
• RFQ handling and BOM creation with attention to detail.
• CATIA V5/NX CAD capability and BOM data interpretation.
• Strong documentation and communication skills across teams.
• Exposure to industry standards such as APQP, IMDS, IATF is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer RFQs and extract key technical and functional requirements.
• Create detailed multi-level BOMs with material types, variants, and specifications.
• Provide initial level support to sales for basic concepts during acquisition.
• Coordinate with design, commercial, tooling and purchasing teams for BOM/RFQ deliverables.
• Interface with suppliers for technical clarifications in early sourcing phases.
• Support product development timelines with accurate documentation and milestone tracking.
• Ensure alignment with APQP, IMDS and IATF standards and customer expectations.
• Estimate ED&D hours and CFD/CAE costs based on DVP requirements.

Overview: As an Acquisition Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for interpreting RFQ documents from OEM customers and developing detailed, variant-specific Bill of Materials (BOM) for kinematic interior systems such as air vents, cupholders, and armrests. The engineer will also conduct initial manufacturability feasibility checks on customer inputs and extend early-level support to Sales for concept definition during the acquisition phase. This role ensures technical accuracy and timely delivery of acquisition documentation for commercial sourcing and costing processes.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with design, Commercial , tooling, and purchasing teams to validate BOM and RFQ deliverables.

• Support product development timelines through accurate documentation and milestone tracking.
• Ensure alignment with industry standards (APQP, IMDS, IATF) and customer-specific expectations.
• Preliminary ED&D hours estimations based on project scope & estimating CAE & CFD costing based on DVP requirements .
• Ability to work with ambiguity in RFQ documents and distil clear technical actions.
• Proficient with CAD tools (CATIA V5/NX), Excel-based BOM structures, and PLM systems.
• Proven experience with kinematic assemblies such as air vents, cupholders, sliding armrests, or modular trim components will be added advantage .
