Job summary

CBTS in Chennai, India, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to process vendor invoices, manage weekly remittances, and respond to inquiries with accuracy.

Job description

The position is responsible for accounts payable processing of vendor invoices, processing weekly remittances to vendors, responding to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoice payment, investigation of receiving variances between purchase orders and vendor invoices, and ongoing process improvements.

Essential Functions:

• Processing and reviewing daily accounts payable activity within defined timelines and assign issue invoices to Purchasing or the appropriate responsible teams - 60%
• Follow up regularly with Purchasing and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of invoice exceptions - 15%
• Ensure invoices are processed in compliance with company policies, approval matrices, and accounting guidelines.- 10%
• Support vendor account reconciliations and resolve supplier queries, and communication with interdepartmental and intercompany personnel as well as external parties - 5%
• Maintain productivity and accuracy targets established for the Accounts Payable function - 5%
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth invoice processing and payment execution - 5%

Education:

Four years of High School or equivalent

2 to 4 years in related field

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with Microsoft applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Experience with Microsoft Great Plains financial application Knowledge of a broad range of accounting functions: Experience with accounts payable receiving and processing. Experience with invoice issue resolution, ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, at times within a short time frame and with minimal supervision
