Job Description – Senior Accountant (Real Estate)
Position :
Senior Accountant – Real Estate Department Finance & Accounts
Reporting To :
Finance Manager / Head of Finance / CFO
Experience :
5–8 Years (Minimum 3 years in the Real Estate/Construction industry as Accountant)
Qualification :
- B.Com / M.Com
- CA Inter / CMA Inter (Preferred)
- Practing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, RERA, and Companies Act.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP and Advanced MS Excel.
Job Summary :
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, project accounting, and cash flow management for real estate projects. The role requires strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in real estate accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Accounting
- Maintain the General Ledger and accounting records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances.
- Perform bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations.
- Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Project Accounting
- Maintain project-wise accounting and cost allocation.
- Track construction costs, WIP (Work in Progress), and project profitability.
- Monitor budgets versus actual expenses.
- Prepare project MIS reports for management.
Statutory Compliance :
- Prepare and file GST returns.
- Manage TDS deductions, payments, and return filings.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax provisions.
- Coordinate with auditors for Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, and Internal Audit.
- Ensure compliance with RERA financial reporting requirements.
Treasury & Banking
- Manage daily cash flow and fund utilization.
- Handle banking transactions and loan documentation.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts.
MIS & Reporting:
- Prepare monthly MIS reports.
- Analyze financial performance and key ratios.
- Present financial reports to management.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Internal Controls:
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting records.
- Improve accounting processes and SOPs.
Team Management
- Supervise junior accountants.
- Review accounting entries prepared by the team.
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, CRM, and project teams.
Required Skills
- Excellent accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and RERA.
- Project accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, MIS, Dashboards). ERP/Tally proficiency.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
