Job summary

TestHiring in Mumbai is seeking an entry-level accountant to help process invoices, manage payable/receivable records, and assist with monthly and year-end closings. You will collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure transaction accuracy, maintain digital and physical filing systems, and support budgeting and cost analyses for manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and has 0–2 years of experience, with strong Excel skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred).
  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, exposure to manufacturing a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP); familiarity with QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests in compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing by compiling data, performing reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics to verify transaction accuracy and resolve billing issues.
  • Track and report outstanding receivables, following up with customers and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Maintain filing systems for financial documents, ensuring data security and audit readiness.
  • Assist in budgets and cost analysis reports related to manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects and audits as assigned by Finance Manager.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, with exposure to manufacturing or production environments a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Understanding of GAAP principles and basic knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving financial systems and processes within a manufacturing setting.
