Job summary

Nilja Shipping in Chennai is seeking an accounting professional to manage GST and tax compliance, and to prepare TDS/TCS returns while maintaining accurate financial records.

The role covers Accounts Payable and Receivable, bank reconciliations, vendor payments, monthly MIS, audit support, and cross‑department coordination to ensure timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file GST returns and maintain GST-related records and Excel workings.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of TDS/TCS returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Handle customer queries related to invoices, outstanding payments, receipts, and account statements.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Process and monitor vendor bills and payments as per company procedures.
• Maintain proper accounting records and ensure compliance with applicable GST and tax regulations.
• Assist in audit preparation by collecting and organizing required documents, statements, and financial information.
• Coordinate with internal departments for the smooth and timely execution of accounting and finance activities.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports covering sales, purchases, inventory, receivables, payables, and other relevant financial information.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and support the team in timely follow-up for payments.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure accuracy of financial data and reports.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned by management.
